Spooks & Kooks - Our Halloween

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

Halloween starts early at my house ....

* It starts with the overseas carepackages ....
Usually through AdoptaPlatoon :)
(I suck at remembering to take pictures so all my prettiness comes from Pinterest ...)
*Next comes a complete overhaul of my house and Joyce's office ...
Halloween Headquarters are a must!!!

^^^ I need a cool wreath now that I have a front door :)

* Then comes the pumpkin ... Twelve & I will make a super mess in the backyard carving one of those babies.

* Of course there will be costumes (and a party!) ...

^^^ How cool is that costume?!?! I want to do that :)

* And no holiday is complete without treats ...

And the truth is ....

Day 41.

It has been 41 days since I have seen PB (not via video chat). It has been 41 days since I have kissed PB. It has been 41 days since I have been in the same room as PB. It has been 41 days since I have touched PB. And the part that is currently killing me is that this is only the beginning. 41 days currently feels like an eternity ... but there are 690 days just like this one waiting patiently to be lived through. Six hundred ninety days until I see PB again.

I find myself being extremely cautious in this blog. I am a very private person which was the original reason I chose not to include any reference to my real name in this blog. It is also the reason I seem incapable to spill my guts.

There are moments when I want to write that PB would be ashamed of the way I am carefully choosing what information to share, but that isn't true. PB is super understanding and while there isn't an ounce of shame in his game, he completely gets that when I chose to hitch myself to his wagon and take on the titles he has managed to earn in this life that I would struggle.

I feel the need to paint PB in the best light possible. If he were writing this that wouldn't be the case at all ... he would point blank tell you straight up the cold, hard facts of his life. But I want the world to see him as more than just a title. I want the world to see the man I know - the man I love.

By now (if you've read our about me), you know that PB spent time in prison. He is a convicted felon. And through a series of misunderstandings violated his probation on two counts. He is currently once again serving time. Do you think less of me now that you know I am standing beside my boyfriend even though he is currently incarcerated?

Ooooh today is going to be a Pinterest day. How did I ever pick out my Fall wardrobe without it?!?!

[1] Mustard (I'm in love with it. I think this is just a variation of my love for yellow shoes ...)

[2] Jackets (I really can't wear them because I'm too hot-natured, but I love how chic they look!)

Fall Traditions

Fabulous Fall Blog Challenge

I didn't realize this was going to be so difficult. I have literally sat here staring at the words "Fall Traditions" for what seemed like hours trying to rack my brain for just one teensy weensy one. And I have come up blank. So, instead of telling you what Fall Traditions I have. I'm going to tell you all about the Fall Traditions I hope to start now that I have started a new chapter in my life.

[1] Football (not a new tradition)

Source: google.com via Cyndee on Pinterest

When I lived with my parents, my dad and I always listened to and/or watched the Dawgs play. Now that I'm out on my own [again], I'd really like to take this one step further and tailgate or pre-game at the house (or maybe not my house because I don't have a TV).

[2] Corn Mazes

Seriously, we take the teenagers to one of these every year. It's so much fun! Especially after day :)

[3] Halloween/Judgment House

Another yearly activity with our teens is Judgment House. And I personally love Halloween (or any holiday).

[4] Decorating

Fall has so many great holidays that I get to dress up the house for. Or even throw a party. I love parties!

Got any chimps for sale?

1.   You should always take time to  say "I love you". Three powerful little words.

2.  Ice cream in waffle cones    make(s) the world a happier place to be.

3.  I can hardly wait for  August 2013 (wow that seems a long way away ....)   .

4.    Friday   is my favorite day of the week.

5.  Something totally dumb and ridiculous that I love is  dancing through my house in my PJ's for no good reason ....

6.  If I could, I would  train a chimpanzee to clean my kitchen ...

7.  I rather like    dreams that make me never want to wake up   .

1. Kiwi is my favorite fruit
2. I know it sounds silly but, I can’t stand touching stone bakeware.
3. The smell of cigarettes reminds me of PB (even though he doesn't smoke anymore).
4. I have to lock the door before I walk away from it because goodness knows I'll forget and leave it wide open for all the boogers to come on in.

Why yes it is OK!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's OK ....

- to consume a bag of mellocreme pumpkins by yourself. [What? They're a SEASONAL food. Isn't that sorta like moderation?]

- to wear pants and a jacket just because you're too lazy to shave your legs and pits ...

- to be totally stoked that Dancing with the Stars premieres next Monday night.

- to use the word "stoked" a lot ...

-to seriously debate subscribing to Netflix because you've completely blown your Redbox budget ...

- to re-read a letter until you've literally memorized the content

- to tear up a little bit over the sappy sweetness of a Spanish love poem

- to wish the modesty panel on your desk went all the way to the floor so that you could curl up underneath the desk and take a nap without anyone knowing where you were ...

- to be creeped out by the guy who walks down the hall and talks to himself ... out loud.

- to occasionally talk to yourself while walking down the hall ....

- that I don't drink coffee and therefore do not own a coffee pot ....

- to pray that your football team will actually play real football this Saturday.

- to mapquest how to get to McDonald's :)

The Funk is Not Your Friend.

google

Why yes today is the day to document what I am loving this week! But no I'm not linking up with the Lovey Dovey Linkup because I am in a funk. A full out funk. So instead I'm retreating to Pinterest. Because my pins are pretty even when my attitude is decidedly not.
